Tucked into a quiet corner of Lincoln Park stands the Couch Tomb, built in 1858 as part of the City Cemetery that once covered the ground beneath the park. When the cemetery was cleared and the bodies relocated, the Couch family's mausoleum was the one structure left standing — and to this day, no one is entirely sure who, or how many people, remain sealed inside.
