Architects Hermann von Holst and Marion Mahony built the Humboldt Park Boathouse in 1907 in the Prairie School style — Mahony was one of the first licensed female architects in the world, working out of Frank Lloyd Wright's studio before striking out on her own. The boathouse still sits on the park's lagoon today.
